Accessibility
We want everyone watching The Great Debate Show to be able to take part. This voting app is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we support
- Light and dark themes, following your device setting unless you choose one.
- Text and controls meet AA contrast in both themes.
- Full keyboard use, visible focus, and a “skip to main content” link.
- Screen-reader labels, and announcements when voting opens, closes, or results are revealed.
- Pinch-zoom and browser text resizing up to 200%, and layouts that reflow on narrow screens.
- Reduced motion when your device asks for it, and no indefinitely flashing content.
- Windows high-contrast (forced colours) mode.
- No account, no time-limited sign-in, and no puzzles to solve.
If you can’t scan the QR code
The on-screen graphic also shows a short web address you can type. You can also open the vote page directly. It always goes to the current debate.
Known limitations
- Voting windows are set live by the production team, so they can’t be extended for individual viewers.
- Debater photos are supplied by the production and may not have extended descriptions.
Feedback
If something doesn’t work for you, please tell us. Contact the production team through the show’s official channels.
